We know that visiting a new church can be intimidating. It's not always easy getting out of bed on a Sunday morning to meet a bunch of new people in an unfamiliar place. So before you come and visit let us answer five questions you might have:
So, who are you?
We have all sorts of people in our church. We aren't all Democrats and we aren't all Republicans. But we get along – every Sunday and times in-between. Some of us are pro-life and others pro-choice. Some have tattoos. Others don't. Some wear suits and others wear jeans. But we have managed to continue worshiping God TOGETHER every Sunday for decades. How cool is that!?
What's your preaching like?
We can assure you it's not the hell-fire-and-damnation kind. We'll let you know what the Bible says. We'll tell you that God loves you. We'll tell you a lot about Jesus and why he's so important. We'll tell you practical things on how to live a life much, much better than the one you are living now. A life empowered by God. That's the kind of preaching we do around Westlake Christian Church.
What if I have kids?
We can guarantee you that's not a problem. We like kids and we have no doubt that we'll like yours. We love kids and we have kid's church so you don't have to worry about them.
What about the offering?
You are our invited guest. We ask that you NOT give us any money when you visit. Most of our members don't put money in the plate every Sunday so you won't look out of place when you don't put any money in. Nobody will even notice.
What if I'm uncomfortable meeting new people?
Sometimes folks feel uncomfortable coming to a new church for the first time. If that's you then why don't you call the church office and tell us you're coming. We'll make sure someone is there to greet you, sit with you, and introduce you to other members of the church. You are our invited guest and we want to make sure that you are comfortable when you visit for the first time. Our phone number is 440-871-2400.
